STEPS to completing the FAFSA or CADAA

IMPORTANT: Determine your "type of family" before you begin. Then choose to complete either: A, B, C or D as described below:

A. FOR PARENTS WHO HAVE COMPLETED THE FAFSA BEFORE:

1. Student: Create a student FSA ID

2. Parent: Do not create another FSA ID; use your existing FSA ID to update your information

3. Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA

4. After successfully submitting the FAFSA, an email will prompt you to create a WEBGRANTS4STUDENTS account.

B. FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS WHO ARE U.S. CITIZENS/ELIGIBLE NONCITIZENS ("permanent resident card" status):

1. Create a student FSA ID

2. Create ONE parent FSA ID

3. Complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA

4. After successfully submitting the FAFSA, an email will prompt you to create a WEBGRANTS4STUDENTS account.

C. MIXED STATUS: FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE U.S. CITIZENS/ELIGIBLE NONCITIZENS ("permanent resident card") AND ONE PARENT WHO IS A NONCITIZEN("undocumented"): Determine if you want to apply for federal scholarships. If yes, follow the instructions for "B". If no, then:

1. Complete the 2025-2026 CADAA

2. After successfully submitting the CADAA, an email will prompt you to create a WEBGRANTS4STUDENTS account. Use the same username and password as the CADAA.

D. FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE NONCITIZENS ("undocumented"):

1. Complete the 2025-2026 CADAA

2. After successfully submitting the CADAA, an email will prompt you to create a WEBGRANTS4STUDENTS account. Use the same username and password as the CADAA.
