welcome parents family members Fremont Academy teachers and staff members mr. Richard Martinez mr. Frank Guzman dr. Roberta Perlman Adrian, nagar Macland and other honored guest to the class of 2018 graduation ceremony for Fremont Academy of engineering and design my name is Elizabeth Harper and I'm the proud principal of this exceptional group of graduates please note that during this ceremony were asking that no pictures or video taping will be allowed away from the seats as you can see we are very very crowded there will be a photographer taking pictures when the students are given their diplomas so that should help as well and you'll have the access code when we leave today we are all asking that you refrain from throwing anything like confetti or Silly String or flower petals there is another graduation that follows in this venue right after we finish and we want their ceremony to be just as beautiful so thank you for that and it is now my great pleasure to introduce to you Fremont Academy's ASB president miss Patricia Sanchez who will lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance national anthem please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance put your right hand over your heart ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all at this moment please remain standing for the national anthem you may be seated it is now my great pleasure to introduce to you the salutatorian for the Fremont how to make graduating class of 2018 Mr Timothy Tran good afternoon everyone I would like to welcome family friends masakra doctor number necessary and school board members but most importantly 2018 just to be clear I am not willingly I am very Asian MP3 on turn truclear communication with social media generation hashtags and pop culture will be used hashtag welcome enter keep anxiety load under a speech I'll pause every 30 seconds so you can go on your Instagram Snapchat the cast of 2018 the sensor in a world filled with problems faced Rodney how to ask your parents for gas money trying to impress your crush and student loans but we will overcome in I said look around I see many faces of determination don't worry future we got this all kidding aside classic 2018 we have survived and accomplished a lot we survived me Saint Francis Daley I mean daily homework we survived mystery getting all case mr. Rona blasting in Spanish music and mr. Shanks dad jokes hashtag sorry not sorry now we can't forget who is the best. violin or who is the best explain everything in class we often competed for who is the best dressed and who are the most perfume and cologne these last four years were the best of times and an octopus of times times in our memories on 10th and Fremont or for both middle school and high school with no diaper tell Johnny he had an email 11th grade restaurant restarting about how we dressed Oceania was all about fortnite and making our relationship stronger than ever we will never ever forget the Nixon Library I want to listen to K-pop haschak BTS Army and without memories we move forward to the future tell my dear anime with motivation is definitely about a plan dream dream with intensity action thank you to my parents my family my friends and all of the incredible stuff at Academy I would personally like to give a shout out to these. in particular William Lee Jose Ortega Jose alcaraz shopping on Sarah's Ozzie Martinez Carlos Lopez and last but not least Javier Mendez into the class of 2018 Thanks for the Memories and don't forget you can follow my Instagram not empty underscore Transit Museum I started later Torreon I wish each and everyone if you're the best thank you it is now my great pleasure to introduce to you the valedictorian for the Fremont Academy graduating class of 2018 miss Patricia Sanchez good afternoon Educators administrators superintendent Martinez mr. Guzman School family friends and of course the class of 2018 I am Patricia Sanchez your valedictorian an ASB president being faced with the task to write a search for a class or an oratorical contest has never intimidated me but coming up with a graduation speech now that was a challenge and I definitely did not want to include the typical cliche that high school has been the best for your server life what I will say is a high school has brought some of the best memories and opportunities for growth we took chances and experience changes together we take chances personally they participating in the school assembly for the fur time or even asking that special someone to a school dance I know for a fact this year we had some of these proposals we took chances I could definitely by innovating new ideas and our engineering classes and chances I'm eating your people even if we are a small campus we have all experienced change as we embark on this journey together that we call high school as we move on we will look back and think of both be fun and stress times we had weeks that seem to last an eternity and do you still went by in the blink of an eye for instance do you remember the first day of high-school walking up to the Whiteboard outside to see who was in your first. Class or not having to wear those ugly College streets anymore entering software years do you remember when we were all stressing over mrs. complices video project and being so excited to take the KC only to find out that our year was a year have been cancelled and let's not forget about having mr. Velasco again during our 11th grade year and working not only as a class but as a team on the solar boat thank you for Lasco memory let's not forget about all of the fun times we had this year a seniors from our senior Sunrise to grad night and of course the stress of college applications even figuring out what your next us will be many of the Fremont staff students are in the audience today have impacted Us in ways they don't even know and have been a part of many of these memories we would not be where we are today without their help and guidance along the way and most of what we have learned is in credit to all of her teachers who taught us importing content inside the classroom and life lessons outside of it there was mrs. Campos pushing his Pastor Breaking Point or having to whip us into shape mrs. Campos will never realize how much you taught us to persevere thank you for being our go-to person for advice and for listening to all of her embarrassing story I also need to personally think does Wilson for helping you with countless beaches and from what does it mean to step out of my comfort zone massage bar although you walked into her life a little later in high school the support you have given us in the memories we made with you will Linger on pass graduation also thinking this money fell out for showing us that we can make her Visions a reality and thank you for encouraging Latinas that we will be the change we all hope to see in Pomona one day I know that each one of your graduates house. one or two teachers administrators or support staff in mind that inspired you motivated you and supported you throughout your yourself Fremont let's take a minute to give the Fremont staff a round of applause now the hardest part how do I think my parents and family for all of their support in sacrifices There Is No Easy Way besides just saying what I say go on to attend UCLA in the fall and pursue my bachelor's degree I will show them that it was all worth it for you and can you send me a link Amino I love all of you more than I will ever show and I will make you guys proud and carry on her name with pride now for the class of 2018 all of you get the opportunity to stand up here and individually think your parents so please allow me to thank them for you thank you to all the parents for all the support they have given and they will continue to provide for your children who said it didn't happen to me. I think it is something mentally as a seahorse her parents and everyone who supported us along the way will never forget what we learned at Fremont we will never forget the memories that we created and that we shared we will never forget the chances that we took or the support that we were given as we walk across this stage we will be stepping forward and we need direction whether it goes as planned or changes are roughly what matters is what we make of her life and how we impact the lives of others it is my hope that the class of 2018 Works towards Building A Better Tomorrow congratulations class of 2018 we did it thank you welcome president of the Board of Education dr. Roberta Perlman vice president of the Board of Education Frank Guzman board member Adrian ConAgra Maclin superintendent Richard Martinez Fremont faculty and staff honored family and friends and our graduates of Fremont Academy class of 2018 I'm very honored and proud to be the principal of this outstanding group of men and women many of whom I have known since they were about 11 or 12 years old when they our school as 7th graders through their six years of Fremont and especially through their high school years these graduates have accomplished amazing achievements as they say it takes a village raise a child I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to the Village of people who have helped make today's celebration possible first two art students first teachers are Fremont for believing in and supporting their children through all of the challenges to reaching this Landmark this graduation graduates let's tan and acknowledge your parents and family members with a big round of applause let's Shannon do that thank you go ahead and take your seat another thing that's really unique about Fremont is we're really a family and the adults in the organization the teachers the counselors our staff members have journeyed with this outstanding group of men and women over the past six years but they didn't Kate countless hours beyond the school day beyond their technical job descriptions beyond the Call of Duty 2 I'm sure that this moment could happen please join me in thanking them one of the amazing things about our Fremont family is that our family extends into the elementary schools that feed into us and Beyond even to teachers who are no longer working with us I know recognize mr. Velasco I'm from Texas to be here tonight so I want to also appreciate teachers and administrators from all of the Pomona Unified School who has contributed to the success of these young people from elementary schools like Maddison Lopez Westmont Lincoln and Lexington to the just-in-time support from sale who helps get the last couple of graduates across the Finish Line please join me in thanking them I also want to thank the District administration the school board members and the superintendent for creating a community within the Pomona Unified School District who truly support each other and unified find Student Success please join me in thanking them as well sitting before you now is the large group of graduates that Fremont has ever had with 128 students receiving their diplomas the class of 2018 has the motto the biggest and the best and has achieved the level one hundred percent of students completing their diplomas and walking in the ceremony today that is no small feat this graduating class also has the distinction of having a majority of females graduating 65 in comparison to 63 male for a school focused on engineering when 18% of engineers in the field are women having a graduating class with more women than men is exceptional this class of 2018 is a class of possibility as George Bernard Shaw said you see things you say why but I dreams that you said never were and ask why not the class of 2018 demonstrates leadership and Innovation the class of 2018 took the lead and asked why not in relation to school DVDs they implemented the first series of spirit rallies are first-ever blood drive resulting in over 100 donations and to food carnivals they also create a senior area with senior handprints on our campus and they are making it happen this Friday when you pick up your diplomas 2018 also is committed to community engagement the class of 2018 took the lead and asking why not work to unify the Latino leaders across multiple high schools resulting in connections made with Gary Ganesha and Village Academy and you can see the stole that says when he died so that's pretty exciting for the work that they've done their members of the class of teen have also completed thousands of service hours in the community ranging from tutoring at neighboring elementary schools volunteering at food banks volunteering at the Pomona Valley Hospital medical and many other kinds of service the class of 2018 also reaches for the future as you may know many of our graduates are the first in their families to graduate from high school go to college they ask why not apply to some of the most competitive colleges and universities in this country why not apply for financial aid and scholarships this belief in themselves their families and each other and their support for each other through this process has resulted in Fremont students going to UC Berkeley UCLA UC Riverside Cal State Fullerton Cal State Bakersfield Mount Sac and Citrus College of our graduates plan to enlist in the military whether the Navy the Air Force the army or the Marines still others are entering additional training to become machinist or auto mechanic the class of 2018 is prepared for their demanding Futures graduating from Fremont Academy actually is more demanding than comprable High School's First all Fremont must take all of the same classes for graduation and a through G College requirements as students at other schools but they also must take engineering classes each year of above and beyond other classes plus Fremont students must complete 120 internship hours in work-based learning but instead of seeing these requirements as an obstacle this class embrace the challenge and possibility and asked why not as a result more class of 2018 students completed their internship requirements than any other Fremont graduating class congratulations class of 2018 your courage perseverance and embrace of possibility inspire in the words of Thomas Merton you do not need to know precisely what is happening or exactly where it is all going what you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment and to embrace them with courage face and hope class of 2018 continue to dwell in possibility I'm very grateful and had the honor of being your congratulations again Fremont Academy class of 2018 according to the laws of the state California and the red regulations as established by the Pomona Unified School District Board of Education I hereby certify that the Fremont Academy High School class of 2018 has met all requirements and I present this class to you as candidates for graduation I would like to introduce superintendent of Pomona Unified School District mr. Richard Martinez we're going to have to fix this microphone yes we do need to fix I want to hold it the good evening everyone how you doing Fin Fun that's super 10 of the Pomona Unified School District forget those and I'll be half of the faculty in your principal I do accept Fremont Academy 2018 give yourselves a round of applause after all those years of cramming for that exam you finally made it you completed your last test you have finished high school you're done with that last big hurdle for now except that wasn't your last big hurdle not anymore than learning to take that first step when you're a baby it was a baby when you thought that was a big hurdle or learning how to read or or learning the multiplication tables or learning algebra trigonometry calculus or physics there will always be that next big hurdle there will always be something else to learn and find them you can excel at and if you don't know already one day you will find that one thing that you would love and you're going to excel that you will make that wonderful one thing your life's work some of you will find it in college or the military or in the workplace but it is important that you do find that thing that will Fascinate You and interest you and hopefully will help you make that world around you a better place because ultimately that is what we are all about here and what we're here for is to leave our mark on the world that we've come into maybe you'll be a doctor and engineer a teacher or an artist or you might just become the world's greatest auto mechanic whatever you choose to be be the very best you can be Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well I wish you all to be extraordinary be awesome be amazed bu because you are extraordinary give yourselves a round of applause a superintendent and on behalf of the certified School District Board of Education knowledge that each of you has met the standards for receiving a high school diploma as set forth by the State Board of Education and the Pomona Unified School District Board of Education I confer to each of you your high school diploma with all the rights the honors and opportunities appertaining thereto to accept this class or board president dr. Roberta Perlman vice president Frank Guzman in board member Adrian kongara Maclin thank you good afternoon it's a pleasure to be here with all of you today sharing this special occasion when I keep going to stay there on behalf of the Board of Education we accept the Fremont Academy class of 2018 give yourselves a round of applause so I'm sure you guys have enough stitches so what I would like you to do it turn around your parents just give him one more round of applause thank you thank you I really just want to thank the parents the brothers the sisters the uncle's the and the foster parents whoever it was that was your person your parents your family member who stood by you through thick and thin thank you for entrusting Pomona Unified School District to educate your children who are now young adults I want to leave the class with just a simple quotes and I really hope that you will live to the words of the quotes everything that you want to be you already are and you're simply on the path to Discovery I just didn't want you to think about that for a second before we move on everything that you want to be you already are You're simply on the path to Discovery that we could not be more proud of each and everyone of you and again families friends Edward who's got it thank you for allowing us a joke congratulations class of 2018 at this time I would like to introduce the president of the price of 2018 Mr Javier Barraza to award the witch Rago family and honorary diploma for the late Pablo which Rocco hello everyone I'm Javier Barraza the class president for the class of 2018 turn off the bat I would like to thank the Fremont staff the Pu board members and are amazing parents who took the time out of their busy lives to make it here for a graduation ceremony today all around of applause where we transition into the next part of our graduation ceremony I would like to take a pause to honor one of my very own able to celebrate with us today I would like to take this time to acknowledge Pablo Pablo was a personal friend of mine graduating with us this year when I met him it was all smiles and his smile was contagious follow if you can hear me now we did it we graduated once a bulldog always a board and you never be forgotten unfortunately Pablo passed away to an eldest between the summer of his 9th and 10th grade year I'd like everyone to please rise for a moment of silence in memory of Pablo thank you you may be seated also at this time I would like to ask all those parents mr. and mrs. Javier Barraza thank you hello once again I am Javier Barraza the senior class president for the class of 2018 in case the class of 2018 knows that serious beaches are not really my thing I'm the person that is always always asking the Fremont students to shout on the height man in fact let me show you the class the 2018 let's make some noise begin with our families have also played an important role in all of our lives here you're the ones who have to deal with us in a worse moment and celebrated as they're not most memorable moments like this one and I would like to thank my wonderful mom Godly Estrada and my Father Miguel Gomez it may not be my biological father he has been there for me for as long as I can possibly remember and he is deserving of the title father you are truly amazing for all that you have done for my sister Leslie and myself as a single mother and trust me I know we weren't easy if it wasn't for you waking me up at 4 in the morning always no sorry sorry if it wasn't for your parents waking us up early in the morning to all of us to do our chores I wouldn't will we wouldn't be the people who we are today I love you both does give me see which one of my flaws and cheer for all of our amazing answer today thank you all right or alright Fremont Fremont Academy has helped each one of us discover our passions and push us toward them has given us the confidence that we need by showing us what we could accomplish with time and dedication I want to thank our talented Fremont driving or dedication first off Miss Wilson thank you for being a part of this embarrassing yet funny advisory update videos additionally thank you to miss Diana and Miss Maricela for making the front office feel like home all students I would like to extend my gratitude and help us reach the ceremony a special shout out to me and if you ask me I'm sure she was just have me as a student for the past three and a half years but she may have a different story to tell during my sophomore year and we were instructed to stay quiet and of course maybe in the lucky one I have my chair collapse out of nowhere. memories that Miss Campos and anyone in that class will never forget also a huge thank you to mr. Velasco for flying out here and supporting us mr. Valeska you inspired me to pursue my dream of becoming a u.s. air man mr. Shane & Shane the class of 2018 would love to say thank you for all the fun memories we shared together throughout the year and sorry for all the stress and drama like 2018 has put you through we should really come with a warning label also please give it up to all of our friends there's absolutely no way any of us would have survived high school without our friends I would like to give a shout out to my friends Jackie Medina presently Fuentes monse Villegas Ashley Osuna and Chris Hernandez thank you for putting up with me the past 3 years and 8 months and of course my one true friend for a forest I can say everything off the top of my head then take the microwave for me so consider this the censored version George and I met in pre-K when I threw a rock at him and he threw him back at me the next day you know just like everybody makes the best friends I want to say thank you for giving me a roof over my head and looking out for me bro I love you so wings are Chinese food after this Chinese and last but certainly not least the class of 2018 get it we reached the end of high school with Mark which marks the beginning of our lives and all of you are amazing I mean look at our Valley Dorian and are salutatorian and all of you in front of me have so many amazing talents we are the biggest class Fremont has ever seen and we are the best class Fremont has and ever will see our memories of high school will all remain in our minds and hearts and I'd like to reflect some of those memories we had an amazing prom like come on we're on a boat that's crazy we had a magical dragon in the happiest place in the world we woke up all of Pomona at our senior sunrise and that our seniors Sunset look for some of us but we also opened up our letters that we wrote Our the sophomores but that goes to show that our class stands United like I said in the beginning I'm the hype man and I want you to respond to every question that I asked you what the number 18 and I answer every question with the number 18 you guys ready we can practice okay so like what's 9 * 2 what's the legal age to vote I got it I got it raised the most money what class is the best what class gave Miss Missoula gray hair what plasma do Shane's rip out his hair what class has the most spirit what class what what part of class of 2018 please stand it is my distinct honor and privilege as class president to ask you guys one more thing so fast 2018 you made you guys me now place your test on the left side of your cap and we are now we are now Fremont Academy graduates thank you for letting me be your senior class president once again always a bulldog once a bulldog always a bulldog much love to everyone thank you and this leads to our recession you could cue the music please
